BILLS EVERYWHERE, SCARLETT NOWHERE TO BE SEEN

A&E

1. The first sense of urgency ever experienced. You can say that wasn't very urgent. But quite urgent I'd say. Seeing BP drop from 170 to 45 isn't a promising sight really. And a lot of bleeding seen too. Flesh peeling off... and some complaint of pain from some machine mishap... And I don't need to say more.
2. It's a rather non-happening day.

I know you may think: 1+2 can't be true at the same time. But actually I tell you they can. Who says you can't be desensitized. Thus the very poised fashion of saving lives in the ER. What you see in TV dramas can't be true.

The Da Vinci Code

Alright, so I watched it. It's too hyped up so people all hated it. But I actually like it. Because:

1. It has a good plot (just like the book)

2. The actress (P.S. aka Princess Sophie) is rather adorable, when she smiles. And her lovely accent rather does it for me too.

3. I can't think of any other reason.

And I can understand why some people might not like it:

1. For people who've read the book... how can the movie beat the book I ask you. So it's rather pointless to compare it this way. It's like you try to compare the original Pride and Prejudice movie to the book. Or Harry Potter movie to the book. Etc.

2. For people who haven't read... Perhaps it's a bit too complicated. I'd agree. I probably wouldn't totally understand what's going on if I haven't read the book.

3. All the hype, all the promos, all the anticipation and expectations... People are bound to be disappointed.

4. Tom Hanks. Whatsup with the straight face? I believe not many people find him hot that way. But luckily there's Sophie... Should Sophie be less camera friendly they'd probably get a thumbs down from me. Actually I can imitate him. My sister says I'm doing a good job at that. But then after saying this... perhaps you shouldn't ask me to do it cuz you won't find me look like him at all.

5. Some scenes... like the one when both the monk (Silas) and the head of Opus Dei died (or seemed to have died)... Is that supposed to be a funny scene?

Dessert Buffet at Langham

My first dessert buffet ever.
Honestly I don't have a craving for desserts. I like good desserts, but I don't crave for desserts. Only girls do, I believe.

But that was good. A lot of strawberries. I actually know a guy who likes strawberries. And again that means I don't have a craving for strawberries. Only girls do, I believe.

And the strawberry desserts were quite good. And the jazz band too. The singer's great. I like her voice so much. The seat was rather comfy. And the English tea was good too. So you can say what a perfect evening.

And it was a reality version of like Lost in Translation.
I could see so many Bill Murray's in the hotel lobby cafe. Probably all waiting for their Scarletts to appear?
The bar's comfy. The music's nice. But all the Bills sit alone, by themselves.

When you're alone, can you really enjoy that moment?
Even if you're in nice surroundings, with access to good food and booze, and a singer that looks rather adorable...

All you need perhaps is booze. Finding a Scarlett is only bonus. And how many Bills can actually meet a Scarlett on trip.

It's not like those Bills have the fame and the charm.
They all share one thing though - a big belly. And aging hair.

And I love the movie even more. Because it's too real.

While I'm not one of those Bills (yet), I was trying to hunt down a Scarlett.

You've guessed whether I succeeded or not. If I did I wouldn't be talking about Bills, would I?

So while surrounded by all the bliss, it's hard to not feel that something's not quite there.

Wrong couples holding hands.
All the Bill sitting alone and smoking their lives away. I bet their wives are probably at home, (not) missing them, and in the movie Bill would shag the jazz singer. I hope that doesn't happen in real life. Cuz that would be totally digusting. But who knows.
The jazz band played on but nobody applauded. Welcome to Hong Kong, Asia's coolest city.

Dad said it's expensive.
I said perhaps with a whole dish of desserts it's worth the $ already. Not to mention the comfy sofa and the live band.
He said his dish of desserts probably worth $30. (an assortment of 5-6 mini cakes... they're small portions, but c'mon the variety!!!!)
I said no he underestimated the cost of eating out in HK.
He said he compared that with Pizza Hut.
I said Sphaghetti house would probably charge a lot for that kind of tea set. And this is Langham Hotel.
He said the cake was good.

And then he said I know how to enjoy too much.

I thought, wasn't I supposed to enjoy that moment, when that $130 HKD was decided to be spent anyway?

Music!

Nellyfurtado.com has a new look. Go check it out. And listen to the jukebox, get your groove on!

The very lovely Scarlett Johansson is releasing a cover song called Summertime! And I've got hold on it - she sounds really lovely. See article here.

Remember Michelle Branch? The American girl singer/song-writer who released several hits (Are You Happy Now)? She's releasing a country album with another girl, they're called 'The Wreckers', and you can preview the album here. Worth a listen if you're in a country mood.

I didn't know Panic! At The Disco did a Sessons @ AOL. Check it out here, search through the Sessions archive. They're quite good. At least their singles are good. Other acts you should watch if you have time - Ricky Martin, Thrice, Pussycat Dolls, Hilary Duff (! totally talent-less but I like her... ewwww I know), and many more.

Cartoons:

Puffy said this is oldschool stuff but it's rather funny:

And the funniest thing is, I actually have a friend who laugh like Beavis and Butthead do. Check this out. It'd be funnier if you knew my friend though.
